Urban Transit

Metro, tube, tram and light rail sleepers

We work closely with you to design tailor-made, urban transit solutions. Our sleeper and bearer systems meet the environmental needs of tram, metro, tube and suburban (light rail) lines.

This includes:

  • Minimizing disruption with quick installation
  • Reducing vibration with innovative booted sleepers
  • Easy access for maintenance, ensuring only minor disruption
  • Blending in with the landscape, with finishes of grass, asphalt or block paving

Through extensive research and development, and collaboration with all stakeholders involved, we have developed a series of products and solutions that are perfectly adapted to the light rail sector:

net1 ballasted track sleepers

Shallow Depth Sleepers

These sleepers are a simple and cost-effective component for the construction of slab tracks in urban environments. They help to reduce tunnel construction widths as well as maintenance costs. Shallow depth sleepers contribute to facilitating track alignment, as they are easy to lay and adjust thanks to levelling inserts. See TW120 for one example of  shallow depth sleepers.

Noise and Vibration mitigation sleepers

These can be customised to specific performance requirements and are available in monoblock (M312), twin block (S312) or switches and crossing bearer configurations.

Our 312 systems offer a complete solution for noise and vibration reduction with our M312 (formerly known as High Attenuation System – HAS) offering the highest level of vibration reduction and a cost-effective alternative to floating slab tracks (FSTs).

The S312 twin block booted sleeper has been used on HS1 (Channel Tunnel Rail Link)  and on the Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) with the M312 Monoblock booted sleeper.

PREFARAILS®

PREFARAILS® embedded rail systems are rails isolated with a complete jacket made of recycled car and truck tyres. They can be supplied in reinforced concrete beams or slabs.

This offsite system can significantly reduce constructions time.  Read more>

Ladder track

This system provides a cost-effective and robust method of grassed slab track construction. It can be manufactured in both straight and curved sections. The ladder track system offers dimensional accuracy, well-proven manufactured processes, is easy to install, and is adaptable to all types of systems and multiple configurations. This solution reduces needs of grass irrigation.
